Frequently Asked Questions
Why is your blog called lights, camera, family!?
My husband and I are both actors and the traditional Lights, Camera, Action! is something we know a thing or two about. When we blended our families, it truly felt like someone had yelled “Action” as we scrambled to form an instant family. When I first started to think about starting this more personal blog, I thought the name really encompassed the feeling we had of being instantly expected to “act” like and be a family.
Why do some of your posts have affiliate links or sponsors?
Blogging requires researching, designing, writing and editing, photographing, social posting, traveling and lots more. In order for this blog to exist, it needs to help pay the mortgage. After all, no one likes to work for free, right? These affiliate links and sponsored posts help keep the lights on but I assure you, I only promote companies that I have direct experience with and truly love. If, at any point, I promote a product, service or venue that I have not tried myself, I will disclose that information, stat.
Do you accept free products?
I am always open to suggestions or collaborative campaigns and I love sharing things I love with friends and readers alike. Although I’m happy to accept products from brands, there is no guaranteed coverage in a post or on social media. Products sent will be for consideration only. If you’d like a media kit with partnering opportunities and rates listed please email me at email@example.com.
How long have you been blogging?
I have loved writing all of my life but creating content is something I started doing full time about 3 1/2 years ago. I started off with guest blogs and then started an edition of a family newsletter in my hometown. After three years, I passed the edition on to a friend and started LCF.
